The heart behind your actions is what counts

What matters to me is who you are, not what you do. The heart behind your actions is what counts. Property or money are not important to me, but they are necessary to do things in the world. For me personally, your hearts and tears are more valuable than money.

If you shed even one teardrop of love here, it is enough. The important thing is the heart behind it. If you take care of that one thing, I can take care of the rest.

You know me only through the work we do. In that sense, the work is more important than me, though it came out of me.

A rose plant may have a thousand thorns and only one flower, yet we still call it a rose plant because that flower, though it lasts only a few days, somehow becomes more significant than all the roots, leaves, stems, and thorns that sustain it.

Similarly, it is because of the work that you see me. Without the work, if I were simply walking down the street, how many people would recognize who I am? Someone would have to tell them a story first. That story is the work. If that story does not become bigger and bigger, people will miss the whole possibility.

If you have been touched by something and you think it is wonderful, you must ensure that it reaches a million other people. If you have any love in your heart, you must make this happen. Otherwise, what is the point?

For me, your hearts and tears matter most. But for this work to happen, your hands are far more important. At least one hand should go into this work. If both hands are already entangled somewhere else, then grow a third hand.

I will take care of the spiritual aspects, but you must take care of the work in the world. When you learn to keep your own ideas, emotions, thoughts, and opinions aside and do what is needed in the world, that itself is a spiritual process, because spirituality is fundamentally about keeping yourself aside.
